This is a quick afternoon project that can be personalized depending on your style, and is so cute! I love those poofy little bunny tails. Materials
- Canvas (I used 24 x 12)
- Mod Podge (I used Matte)
- 4 pieces of patterned paper that complement one another
- Paint that compliments your patterned paper
- Brushes (for the paint and mod podge)
- 4 Pom Poms *I had to trim my 3 inch ones (pictured) I’d recommend 1.5-2 inch pom poms
- Needle & White Thread
- Scissors or Cricut/cutting machine
- Glue
The Process
Step 1
The most difficult part of the project for me was finding 4 patterns of scrapbook paper and a background color that went well together. I eventually decided on a floral theme with a pastel background. Once you have colors and patterns picked out, it is time for the real crafting to begin!
**Important!** Before moving on to Step 2, rearrange the patterns to see which order looks best. Also decide which order the bunnies will stand in.
Step 2
I used my Cricut to cut the silhouettes. If you don’t have a Cricut or other cutting machine, just print, cut, trace them onto the scrapbook paper to cut. This project led me to learn how to create my own svg files (the most compatible type of file for the Cricut ). I’m happy to share these files with you for free! You can download them below:
Step 3
Paint your canvas-I needed two coats. Once the canvas has dried, lightly glue the bunnies to the canvas. Glue isn’t totally necessary since the Mod Podge will secure the paper to the canvas, but it helps to make sure they stay in place. The brushing of the Mod Podge could cause the paper to rip or fold with the brush strokes if not glued.
Step 4
Mod Podge it! I always watched my mom use this magical stuff when I was young. I thought it was pronounced “modge podge,” which is what I still choose to call it for nostalgic reasons! Anyways, in this step be sure to keep your brush strokes moving in the same direction (I went horizontal), and be careful not to let the brush cause the paper to fold. Try to do this step quickly–once the Mod Podge begins to dry, going over it again with the brush will create flakes and the end product won’t be smooth.
Step 5
Once the Mod Podge has dried, thread a needle and place a knot at the end of the thread. Thread it through the middle of the pom pom and sew the pom pom onto the bunny. I went back and fourth 3 times through each tail and ended the stitch of the back of the canvas. Non-sewers click here for details about making an end knot.

I made this for my mantle, but I think it is a versatile piece that would look so cute anywhere! This could also be made in different variations, like as an 8×10 with only one bunny. I considered adding a phrase, such as “Welcome Spring” or the ever popular “Hoppy Easter,” but decided it looked a cleaner without it.
